Poachers are taking chunks from California Redwoods putting the trees at risk.

  • People are cutting huge chunks out of the bases of redwood trees in California, even though it is no where near the deforestation in the Amazon it is ranked pretty high.

  • It is compaired to the killings of elephants for their ivory tusks.

Oil above $106 after improved Chinese economic indicator suggested crude demand might rise.

Fire whipped across ecological reserve in Argentina's capital; mayor suspects arson.

  • The fire occures just blocks away from the city's political and financial center on a reserve.
  • Mayor Mauricio Macri of Buenos Aires says that there are suspicions that it was intentionally set.
  • It took at least 8 fire crews to bring the blaxe under control after getting more than 30 feet in the air.
